Ongoing Playground Fight
I see the PRA are trying to don the Ref's shirt and adjudicate in the fight between the RFU and the clubs, as an unbiased third party!
Interesting! sadly they can not be anywhere near unbiased, as for a start they are in business with the RFU on the Hospitality side! They are also highly beholdant to the RFU for that Hospitality deal, as without going into too much detail, they did not manage to deliver their part of the deal, and the RFU covered them for it!!!
So you can not call them unbiased!!!
So the saga continues, and what disapoints me the most is that there is no one with the stature, or balls, to stand up and sort this pathetic mess out.
As I said in my piece on Club V Country, it is not a highly complicated deal that needs to be done, and there is no doubt that there are idiots on both sides that do not want to sort it out, but surely, surely, there is someone who has the desire and character to smack some heads together and sort it out!
I was hoping that Rob Andrew might be the man. I am still hoping, although with slightly less conviction as the sordid episode is allowed to run and run.
Mabe on the lighter side, we could have another intelligent outburst from a front row forward to look forward to!!!!

A quick question, have Francis Baron or Martyn Thomas ever played rugby?
I only ask because they seem to be so unaware of what is happening in rugby generally.
Are we allowed to still talk about rugby?
What is your view on Hipkiss, as a Tigers supporter I'm biased, but he has had a great season and seems to be one of those players who is willing to put his hand up when need. He supplied the critical scoring passes in the EDF Cup final, the semi, and against Stade in the HC.
Does he deserve an England slot?
Will, what are you thoughts on Lawrence Dallaglio suggesting that a players strike may be the only way to sort out the Heineken Cup mess?
The problem is that this argument has gone on for so long and that it has gotten so heated that the only thing that will bring everyone to their senses is a players strike.
That said, I have no sympathy for either the RFU or the Clubs. Both have argued with so irrationally and in such a childish way that I'm just sick of the sight of Keith Barwell shooting his bloody gob off and gloating about how much money he's gonna make out of this and Francis Baron trying to pretend that he has a clue about this strange "rugby thing" while being as rude and condescending as possible. I'm sick of it, utterly sick of it and if I was in the same room as the Club owners and the old farts at the RFU, I'd tell them where to shove it.
I mean, seriously guys, the Clubs are considering going to Wembley to hold their start-of-season double header for the 07/08 season out of spite because they don't want to use Twickenham! While the RFU just happily continue on in bliss thinking its 1995 and that nothing is happening. Crisis? What crisis! I'm sick of it!
The solution for player ownership and season congestion still is quite simple: structure the sodding season properly!
What has actually happened is that both sides have just used the player issue to bash the other over the head so that they can have a bigger share of the power. This has led to irrational decisions such as the clubs randomly deciding to boycott the HEC, the RFU being utter d*cks towards all and sundry and both sides ruining everything for the rest of Europe by setting European competition back by five years!
As one of the club owners said, there are only *five* occasions in the calendar where club and country clash so the emphasis to solving this row is to get the damn schedule straight! Even if it means shifting some matches to be played in June and July so that the clubs don't play during the Autumn Internationals and the 6 Nations! And lets face it, if it was nice, warm and sunny then I'd bet you anything that more people would turn up to a Guinness Premiership match in June or July than in January!
I think organising a test match against South Africa a couple of days after the Heinken Cup final tends to suggest the RFU are incapable of organising the playing season.
Actually I'd quite like to have an excuse to go to the new Wembly Stadium, it looks quite impressive.
