SA Tour

So no players from Leicester, Wasps or Bath for the first Test, and possibly the second! No problem.......... because of course that leaves..............!!!!!!!!!
Who on earth are we going to play in the forwards??? Or the backs for that matter!!!
Titteral?? Lund?? Easter?? Well that will have the Boks filling their shorts!!
I must say with all those players unavailable, it is just the tour you would want to hold your hand up for!! Pick me, pick me!! ( have any of you seen Shrek??!!)
On the face of it, a ****ing disaster!! Ashton must be furious, just what he needs before the World Cup, two tests and probably 100 points conceded!!!
But being the eternal optimist, at least we will find out who has balls and a spine and who doesn't in the young guns that he takes!!!
I know there are some rugby geniuses amongst you!! So come on, let me know your squad........!! Should make for some interesting reading!!!

As a Sarries fan, I'd plunder our pack for whatever you can get! We've been performing really well all year so far!

Also Ben Johnston has been playing really well as a centre, totally outclassed Abbott at the Sarries - Quins game. I say he should be on the bench at least.

Also, how much louder do I have to say this: PICK BLOODY SODDING CHRIS JONES!!!!!!!!11116r43y646^&^*(^

In the Summer Internationals against Australia last year he caused CARNAGE against the Aussies and then suddenly, Robbo didn't want to know any more! What a total waste! And for some reason, Ashton doesn't want to know either. I don't care how small he is, he is a gem in the 2nd row! PICK HIM!

Richard Hill at Flanker. No contest, especially when Lund seems fragile in big internationals.

For Scrum Half, Shaun Perry. No contest.

Reality though, must come home. We must write off the front row as a lost cause. Instead, I say we focus on playing some fast rugby.

My 15:

1 Sheridan
2 Cairns
3 Yates
4 Jones (PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!)
5 Vivian
6 Sanderson
7 Hill
8 Easter
9 Perry
10 Flood
11 Cueto
12 Catt (c)
13 Gehraty
14 Strettle
15 Robinson

Bing Bang Bosh. Saracens fun and games in the pack, dynamic awesome-ness in the backs and I've even managed to find space for Pat Sanderson.

The Bokkers don't know whats gonna hit em' harr harr harr!

According to The Times Sheridan will not have recovered. Catt is also injured at the moment.
Bear in mind we also have the Churchill Cup taking place in England for the first time, starting May 18th. Given that England is the hosts we ought to have a good Saxons team taking part.

True, but considering that probably none of our young guns have played against the Boks yet, the better course of action is to make the strongest England touring squad possible.

We have two tests against what Jake White says will be his "strongest side he has ever picked", we need to give our youngsters a chance to get to grips with the Boks before we face them in our world cup group.

Thus, I think having a weakened Saxons Squad in order to blood in as many new guys as possible before the World Cup on the tour in SA is a far better course of action.

Having a weakened A team is alright, but consistently sending first XV's overseas which have been castrated and kneecapped before they've even left Heathrow is sacrilege, end of. We should always try to send our strong squad overseas to tour whatever the circumstances.

I heard that Catt is a maybe. Personally, I'd believe the Torygraph over The Times as they're a bunch of pretentious liberal pansies while the Torygraph actually bother to dedicate a good chunk of their sports section to Union and League.

If Sheridan might not have recovered in time, it might be worth calling on Bristol's grizzled front row for some experience.

Torygraph readers have certainly been venting their spleens at the rfu, perhaps Baron et al may take some notice, then again.
It will be a very tough tour, I just don't see the point in taking anyone who is not 100% fit.
Anyone taking bets on who will be injured first, I'd put my money on Wilko.
I'm wondering if the Saxons time could be made up of Wasps/Tigers/Bath players, could be quite useful. Perhaps it is all part of a cunning plan.
I think the IRB sevens is also in London at the same time just to add a little to the flames.

Peter,

do you really think a mid-field of Flood, Catt & Gerghty is going to stop the Boks??!!
Also much as I like him and brilliant as he was, Hill is too old for number 7.
Beattle Tom,

quite like the squad, although Farrell would be even more exposed for pace on the fast hard grounds of the high veld. Not sure that Hazell will ever make it at the top level either, the same for Sanderson.
That being said, and the same for Peter, who else is there?? So quite impressive selections!!
As for Chris..........notice you did not put your neck on the line and name either a squad or a team!!You coward!!! ou just hid behind political bollocks about the Saxons!!! You have potential to go right to the top of the RFU!!!

OK by way of compensation how about this, seeing as many players will be sun-bathing in SA I thought I'd select a sevens squad from Wasps/Tigers.

Rees
Croft
Moody
Ellis
Cipriani
Varndell
Sackey
Hipkiss
Erinle

Chris,

No!! You have still completely avoided the issue!! Brilliant !! I think you could take over from Martyn Thomas soon!!!

Chris -

Boooooooooooooooooooo!

You guys do realise that because the RFU insist on an 11 week summer break for players (They took the clubs to court to enforce it after the Lions tour) that any players on the SA tour will not be available for the warm up matches in August.

Bloody typical RFU! Always behind the game.

If they'd provoked the clubs into boycotting the Heineken Cup a year ago we wouldn't be in this mess now.
