So Italy did not beat France!! infact not even close!! But then again I have always had my finger on the pulse!!
But England did win, and by about 20 points so not bad!
Lund went well and although all the hype will be about Jonny, I think England having a number 7 who can link the backs and forwards is the most important development from the game. It will allow England to maximise the likes of Lewsey, Robinson, Tindall and Farrell. England have played for too long with a non ball playing backrow and that has precluded them from ever playing a fluid or expansive game, so congratualtions to Lund.
Great to see Robinson back, and Tindall looking sharp!
I am still unsure about the impact Farrell will make, I hope it is a great one, but at the moment following the one game, and it has to be said a game against one of the least inspiring midfields in the Championship, I am not convinced. I think he has the talent, application and desire, I just hope that he will have come to terms with the pace and intensity of the Six Nations before we hit the Irish.
All in all great to be smiling after and England game! Makes a great change and a very welcome one!
