Leinsterfan, you are back!! Thought we had lost you in a keg of guinness after the dramatic end to the Six Nations!!!
And Fat n Balding, I take it you are far from impressed with the England pack especially!!!
I can understand to a point, I mean none of them are as hard as me!! But then that is a hell of a standard to attain!!
They are young, give them time!
How about Open all Hours - Gordon Brown's mouth......... no, sorry I meant Opticians for the TMO's.

The sorrows have been drowned. Back to drawing board. A team with serious talent, but not producing the goods. Is it Eddie O Sullivans fault? And even if it is, would the irfu have the balls to bring in someone new, considering he is the most successful manager the irish have ever had. It really is a double edged sword.

Confused LeinsterFan.

When it comes to EOS, it depends whether you give him credit for keeping a backline like that together for so long, or do you look at the flip side and say that he had no other choices?
I think he has done well, up to a point, and I am not sure that he is the right guy / has the ability to push them to the very top.
I think he allows them to be too lazy, mentally. I do not think they performed to their true potential this championship, apart from the England game, because they did not get themselves in the right frame of mind. It takes a bloody big effort, is a real pain in the arse etc, but it is essential. EOS has not got them to that pitch.
I have lost respect for him, because he has hidden behind all sorts of bollocks - strangling and game times - and media spin, instead of honest assessments of what has been happening.
It is that flaw that I think exposes him, and makes me doubt he has the steel / drive to create the right atmosphere for them to be the best.

Bullshiting Fat Guy !!!

Personally I think Eddie has taken the team forward to the best of his ability, and has done an excellent job in doing that. I feel now however that he has had a few seasons with them and it is time to bring in somebody to take them to the next level. While I would never condone a player genuinely going out to hurt another, I am sure that anyone who has been at the bottom of ruck will know that there are points when you feel that you could possibly die, if youve gotten a hard hit and there are players piling in on top of you. things can be confused when you are under that much pressure, and I dont feel that the scots are dirty players. I agree that eddie hid behind blatant bollox after that game, and didnt address the shit performance at all. Really we should be giving the scots a jolly good old stuffing, but instead we just about scraped and clawed our way back into it in the dying minutes.

Ive no doubt that due to the good work of the managers at mainly club level over the past few years Cheka, Kidney, Gatland to name but a few, that eddie has been given absolute quality in which to work. He has only last year really brought that to the ireland team. The victory over the trinations sides was a step forward for him, but lets face it, they were not full strength as we were. South Africa we definately understrength missing key players like du randt and matfield, monty (and the list goes on and on). We beat australia well, but australia have taken a step backwards imo, they are a shadow of their previous selves, and i feel their position is very similiar to englands in a way. One need not look any further than the heineken cup and the magners league to see that the irish have dominated. Munster are champions of europe, Leinster i think are the only team who can beat you in two minutes losing all lineouts and scrums at the end of a match with 5 minutes to go off a retreating scrum while away from home. They are characters!
Ulster full of vibrant youngsters simply dying to get into the mix and top of the magners league.
Why the hell are we not grandslamming?? I completely agree with you that it is a mental problem. It is not the favourites tag though, and i wish the media would stop going on about it. What i think it is, is concentration for 80 minutes, focus on the job at hand and implementing with confidence what has been done in training. Its blatantly obvious that its not talent that they lack. The lineout in the Italy game was proof that minds are just not clicking in unison with what was practised. I think closer to the world cup when the proper training camps start that this can be brushed up on, and there is time. It is those moments hesitation that is killing us tho.

I really think that if we dont get to at least the semi-final of the worldcup that eddie should go. That is the standard that this team has set for itself, not set by me or the media or the public.

I remember around this time before the worldcup 2003 i saw an interview with ben cohen, and he talked about something beautiful coming together in the england camp, that they had so much power and strength and pace. He was brimming with confidence. That is how I want to see us before this world cup. Brimming with confidence and completely sure that we know exactly what to do on the park.

*LeinsterFan prepares the stick for eddies head* *ready to whip it away suddenly should he miraculously succeed*

The opening round of Six Nations fixtures certainly didn’t disappoint. We had a tense thriller (Ireland 16 – 11 Italy), a shocking upset (England 19 – 26 Wales) - which must have cost the bookies in Wales a few quid, seen as though the Welsh were massive underdogs and not forgetting that the Taffies like a bit of Rugby Betting UK. Then there were the brave Scots; who went down 27-6 to France. So many parts of Scotland’s game were working well and all three of the French tries came from schoolboy errors by the Scots... I hope their confidence is still in tact because they actually played really well.
