Is it me or are the TMO's making all the decisions. Maybe I'm out of touch but the final try for France and Italy were dubious calls.

Firstly, there must have been doubt as to the grounding of froggies try with Patterson plus 1 other wrapped around the ball. There was no camera angle to clearly show the grounding and ironically, an Irishman called it! (can us humble people nominate muppets? that's mine!)

Secondly, Italian full back and the triple thrust maneuver (spelling?). I'm pretty sure you couldn't call that momentum where he hit the deck, lunged forward (all of 6 inches), realised he'd ballsed it up and went for it again. Only for the TMO to give the try.

How did we everplay before the TMO was invented? I wonder how many the times the refs have thought WTF when the TMO gives his decision?

Rant over............

and

Thank You Wales for avoiding the woodenspoon!

I can't help but feel the refs are absolving themselves of responsibility (a polite way of saying they are cowards) by going to the TMO almost everytime there was a try. For the French try the ref said the "I saw ball grounded fine, is there any reason I should not award a try?". So can the TMO say "Actually 20 mins ago you missed a knock-on, scrum back on the French 25"?
I wonder if the ref had gone to the TMO for the Welsh second try whether the TMO would have said "Tait was tackled off the ball and prevented from tackling the try scorer" I don't think Tait could have stopped him but who knows what the TMO might have said.

Will,

My match day muppet would be Joe Worsley.

80 odd thousand cheering Welshman and he asks 'what happened?'.....and obviously getting knocked out in the first minute seems convenient.

Can someone start a campaign for scantily clad cheerleaders in hot tubs at Premiership/home internationals matches. It seems to work well in the super 14.

My themes would be :

The new england and mike catt as a leader (does he bring more to the team?)What are the forwards up to?

Ireland- do they have the power to upset the top teams in the wc

Wales- have we seen the last of steven jones now that the new star hook has taken his chance

France- Is this a squad that can go all the way? Strength and depth

Italy- having gained the momentum they need can they take it a step further in the wc

Scotland- Who wants to talk about scottish rugby :)

Match day muppet, how about the RFU official who organised an away Test match against South Africa less than a week after the HC final. Is the assunption no English clubs will be involved?
